"Hay nako, there a lot of fishes in the sea. Sa sobrang dami, pati sea horses at starfishes pwede mo na rin patulan."

Honestly, tama ang sinabi sa akin. Pero yeah, natawa ako dun sa sea horses and starfishes. Hehe..

Thanks, Katre!

A Third Eye of Some Sort

Being lost as I am, I am pretty much interested in learning as much as I can in photography. A lot of people might have said that it's one expensive hobby but hell do I care about that!

But right now, err.. yeah, I care about that. I'm broke. I can't buy a good equipment. Good thing I knew Jill from Pam, and from Jill, I get to know Ruby, the giggly girl I met in Rock Ed's Keep Your Promises event.

Apparently, she has a nice cam.. A Canon Rebel XT. A cam that I have been eyeing to buy. But due to certain circumstances, I am forced to hold myself back.

Watch out Ruby. Nakikita mo ba ang Third "I" ko? As in Inggit?! Darating ang panahon nasa akin na yang cam mo! Hehehe.. :D

Mozzie and the Room Upstairs

The free movie offered by the FIRM didn't pin me down for the night. Right after the boring screening of The Pirates of the Caribbean, I dashed off to The Room Upstairs where Mozzie was scheduled to play a set for the night.

I didn't expect that I would be able to catch Mozzie do their set. The invitation read: 9pm @ The Room Upstairs. It was 10:15pm and I just got in a cab. For some reason the cabbie driver felt the urgency I had. In the next 15 minutes, I was in the room upstairs looking for Mozzie.

When I arrived, I found Mozzie lounging in the far side of the room waiting for their turn. Thank God, they weren't done yet! With a lot of waiting time still to be done, it was time for us to get our fill of alcohol pictures.

Chrie and Fifi
Chrie vocalizes as Fifi gets her fill of wine.

Pam, a.k.a. the producer, troubled by the fact
I found one of her tickle points.

It was quite a wait before Mozzie got their chance to play. But what the hell, the wait was worth it -- Mozzie surely made it one of their best gigs ever! Pam brought down the house room to its knees when she started singing our most requested song: "Oh, Lumapit Ka." Good thing it didn't took too much effort from us to get Pam to sing it. :D

Movie Night: Pirates of the Caribbean III

PiratesOfTheCaribean_AtWorldsEnd_posterIt's pretty late for me to have caught this movie. If not for the free screenings offered by the FIRM (quoted from Mike), I would have not decided to catch the movie. Last Friday was one of the FIRM's latter screenings, and since I would have a couple of people coming with me to watch it, I decided to sign-up.

And since it was pretty late for me to see the movie, I received mixed reviews both from a couple of friends and online sources. CNN's review of the movie is headlined with Even Depp can't save clogged 'Pirates'. MetaCritic rates the movie at 50 out of 100. Jason on the other hand mentioned how the movie's not worth a second round of screening when we (Pam, Chrie and Fifi) were thinking of catching the movie last Tuesday. Pat, my movie buff friend and teammate, has admitted whole heartedly how he got bored of the movie and that he enjoyed Spiderman 3's love angles more than that of what is in the movie. Surprisingly, a teammate of mine mentioned how she liked the movie. In all of the things that she said and tried arguing about, only one thing got stuck in my head "Magaling naman si Johnny Depp."

Uh.. Ok. I think that a good actor wouldn't make a movie good.

But yeah, I'd agree with her, Johnny Depp was damn good but like what CNN said, that wouldn't compensate how my ass fused with the movie theatre's seat covering. For one, the movie was 2.5 hours long and it was one hell of a drag. I'm a little disappointed seeing myself slouching all throughout the movie as it failed in giving good blows in scenes that were meant to be big. Speaking of big, and yeah, I mean BIG. I find it a little funny how Calypso was freed from her human form. A short silly incantation brought this character into a trance where afterwards, she started growing into a 50-foot woman. And after a couple of gibberish shouts, the turned herself into a gazillion crabs. I know Calypso is supposed to be a goddess or something but I would have expected something more.

It wasn't really a waste of time. But yeah, I think it would have been wise to have spent my time on another movie. But what the heck, it was free! :D
